Kevin had few rare days off for Fall Break, so we took advantage of the free time and went up to Washington DC! Neither of us had been there before, so it was fun to explore together. We had a nice long weekend just walking around and trying all sorts of yummy food in the nation's capitol!
We of course saw all of the iconic monuments and memorials. Reflecting on our founding fathers and nation's history made me so proud to be an American!

We saw Arlington Cemetery and many of the War Memorials. They were beautiful and sobering. So thankful to the people who have given their lives to protect our freedoms.
We rented bikes to ride around the city, which was so fun!
We also made time Saturday morning to go to the gorgeous D.C. temple. It was incredible!
We know so many fun people who live in the DC area and loved catching up!
My old roomie and dear friend Kimmy took us around Georgetown.
We also loved seeing the Winkels, who Kevin knows from his mission in Barcelona!
We didn't snap a pic with Brad and Amanda and Baby Jane, but they definitely deserve a shout out for letting us stay with them for a night!
My cousin Shae was so generous to let us crash at her place as well. There was never a dull moment with her cute family! (Kevin was a hit with the kiddos!)
We pretty much fell in love with the city, especially in the lovely fall weather. We wish we would have had more time, there was so much to do! I guess we'll have to go back again soon!
