My sister is going to be a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! Friday night Audrey opened her mission call. She has been waiting in anticipation to find out where she will be serving. We all got together at her apartment to facetime the fam in Wyoming and watch her open it!
Audrey will be serving (drum roll please...) in the
Mexico, Mexico City East Mission!
I am so excited for her! She leaves in February and is going to be such an amazing missionary. She wanted to go a warm, Spanish speaking country, so Mexico is perfect.
It is going to be a big sacrifice for her to leave BYU for 18 month, but I'm proud of her for choosing to serve the Lord. She is going to change so many hearts and lives with her testimony. ¡Viva la Mexico!
In the past, girls could choose to serve a mission when they turned 21, and young men at 19. In October of 2012, the LDS church announced that they would be sending girls at 19 (and guys at 18). Since then, there has been a huge wave of missionaries choosing the serve! It's so inspiring and exciting to see all of these young girls and guys deciding to share the gospel all over the world.
